ਕੂਕਾਬਾਰਾ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਪੰਛੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਹੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਸਾਡੀ ਕਰਮ-ਭੂਮੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਹੱਸਣ-ਵਸਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਹ ਹੱਸਦਾ ਪੰਛੀ ਬੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਹਿਜੇ ਹੀ ਸਾਡਾ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਫੇਰ ਇਸਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ‘ਕੂਕਾਬਾਰਾ’।
